Galeforce Audio K1200.4 Amplifier
Galeforce Audio K1200.4: Korean-Built 4-Channel Power for Serious Audio Systems
Finding a powerful 4-channel amplifier isn't difficult. Finding one that combines serious power, reliability, compact size, flexible crossover control, and Korean manufacturing is a different story.
Meet the Galeforce Audio K1200.4.
The K1200.4 is a Korean-manufactured Class D 4-channel amplifier designed for the demanding audio systems our customers actually build. From motorcycles and Harley-Davidson baggers to cars, trucks, boats, Slingshots, golf carts, ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and custom boomboxes, the K1200.4 delivers serious power without requiring a massive footprint.
But power is only part of the story.
With dyno-certified power ratings at just 12.6 volts, an integrated cooling fan, top-quality components, 9–16V operating capability, and an extremely versatile onboard crossover network, the K1200.4 was designed to be an amplifier you can build an entire system around.
Korean-Built Quality With Reliability in Mind
When we developed the K1200.4, reliability wasn't something we were willing to sacrifice for a bigger number on a spec sheet.
The K1200.4 is manufactured in Korea using quality components and an architecture designed for serious audio applications.
An integrated cooling fan provides active cooling to help manage temperature when the amplifier is being pushed. That's particularly important in motorcycles, boats, Slingshots, golf carts, powersports vehicles, and other applications where amplifiers are frequently installed in tight spaces with limited airflow.
The K1200.4 is also designed to operate across a wide 9–16 volt operating range, making it versatile enough for a wide variety of 12-volt audio systems.
Whether you're building a daily-driven car audio system or a high-output motorcycle setup that spends hours playing hard, the goal is simple:
Clean power you can depend on.
Dyno-Certified Power at 12.6 Volts
Amplifier power ratings only mean something when you know how they were measured.
The Galeforce Audio K1200.4 is rated at:
-
190 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms
-
300 watts x 4 @ 2 ohms
-
570 watts x 2 bridged @ 4 ohms
Most importantly, all three ratings are dyno-certified at 12.6 volts.
That's a major distinction.
Rather than relying on inflated maximum-power numbers or ratings produced only at unusually high charging voltages, the K1200.4 delivers serious output at a voltage representative of a normal 12-volt electrical system.
With 300 watts RMS available across all four channels at 2 ohms, the K1200.4 has the output needed to drive serious high-performance speakers while retaining the flexibility of a true 4-channel amplifier.
An Extremely Versatile 20Hz–8kHz Crossover Network
Power gets most of the attention when people shop for amplifiers, but one of the K1200.4's biggest advantages is actually its onboard crossover network.
The K1200.4 offers:
High-Pass Filter (HPF): 20Hz–8kHz
Low-Pass Filter (LPF): 50Hz–8kHz
That unusually wide adjustment range gives builders tremendous control over exactly which frequencies reach their speakers.
Instead of being limited to a conventional amplifier crossover designed primarily for basic subwoofer or full-range speaker installations, the K1200.4 can be configured for a much wider variety of high-performance audio systems.
Create Bandpass Crossovers Directly From the Amplifier
Because the K1200.4 provides both adjustable high-pass and low-pass filtering, you can use the amplifier's onboard crossover network to create a bandpass crossover.
For example, a midrange driver doesn't necessarily need to reproduce everything above its high-pass setting.
You can use the HPF to remove frequencies below the driver's intended operating range and the LPF to remove frequencies above it.
The result is a defined frequency window—or bandpass—for the speaker.
That can be extremely useful in multi-way motorcycle, powersports, marine, and car audio systems using combinations of:
-
Midbass drivers
-
Midrange speakers
-
Pro-audio mids
-
Compression drivers
-
Horns
-
Super tweeters
-
Subwoofers
And because the crossover range extends all the way up to 8kHz, the K1200.4 provides substantially more flexibility for midrange and high-frequency system design than an amplifier with a conventional low-frequency crossover network.
Build a Serious Multi-Way System Without Relying Entirely on External Processing
DSP is an incredibly powerful tool, but not every audio system needs—or wants—the added expense and complexity of external digital signal processing.
That's another area where the K1200.4 shines.
Its wide-range onboard HPF and LPF controls allow an installer to handle a significant amount of frequency management directly at the amplifier.
Want a pair of channels dedicated to midbass?
Set the appropriate high-pass and low-pass points.
Running high-output midranges and want to keep both deep bass and unnecessary upper frequencies out of them?
Create a bandpass.
Building a system with separate mids and high-frequency drivers?
The K1200.4's crossover flexibility gives you far more options for dividing the workload between drivers.
A DSP can still provide substantially more advanced tuning, but the K1200.4 gives builders a powerful set of tools before an external processor ever enters the equation.
Compact Power for Motorcycle & Harley-Davidson Audio
Motorcycle audio is one of the most demanding environments for an amplifier.
You need enough power to overcome wind, road, engine, and exhaust noise—but there isn't much room to hide a large amplifier.
That's exactly where the K1200.4's combination of power and physical size becomes valuable.
The amplifier measures:
-
10.875" overall length
-
9.9" heatsink length
-
4.7" wide
-
2.2" tall
That's a lot of 4-channel output packed into a relatively compact chassis.
For Harley-Davidson baggers, custom motorcycles, touring bikes, and high-output motorcycle audio systems, the K1200.4 can provide the power needed for serious speaker systems without requiring the installation space associated with many large high-output amplifiers.
Pair that with its active cooling and extensive onboard crossover controls, and it becomes an extremely capable foundation for a motorcycle audio build.
Serious Power for Car & Truck Audio
The K1200.4 is far from being motorcycle-specific.
In a car or truck audio system, 190 watts per channel at 4 ohms or 300 watts per channel at 2 ohms provides enough output to drive many high-performance component speakers, pro-audio midranges, midbass drivers, and other demanding speaker systems.
Its crossover flexibility is particularly useful for custom multi-way car audio systems.
The ability to bandpass speakers directly through the amplifier gives installers another level of control when designing systems with dedicated midbass, midrange, and high-frequency drivers.
And when a two-channel configuration makes more sense, the K1200.4 can produce 570 watts x 2 bridged at 4 ohms.
A Great Fit for Boats & Marine Audio Systems
Space and reliability are major concerns on the water, too.
Boats frequently need multiple high-output speakers to overcome engine, wind, and open-air noise. That can require substantial amplifier power, while available installation space may still be limited.
The K1200.4's compact Class D design, active cooling, four-channel output, and crossover flexibility make it an excellent amplifier option for properly protected marine installations.
Whether you're powering high-output coaxials, midranges, tower speakers, or another multi-speaker configuration, having up to 300 watts per channel at 2 ohms provides significant system-design flexibility.
As with any electronics installed in a marine environment, the amplifier itself should be mounted in an appropriately protected location away from direct water exposure.
Built for Slingshots, Golf Carts, UTVs & Side-by-Sides
Some of the most challenging audio builds aren't cars or motorcycles at all.
Polaris Slingshots, golf carts, ATVs, UTVs, and Side-by-Sides combine open-air listening with extremely limited installation space.
That's an ideal environment for a compact, powerful Class D amplifier.
The K1200.4 gives builders four channels of substantial output without consuming the amount of space you'd expect from a traditional high-power amplifier.
Its flexible crossover network also makes it possible to adapt the amp to very different system designs—from straightforward full-range speaker systems to dedicated midrange and multi-way configurations.
Perfect for Custom Boombox & Portable Audio Builds
Custom boombox builders face another challenge: getting maximum performance from minimum space.
The K1200.4's compact dimensions, Class D architecture, four-channel configuration, and 9–16V operating range make it an excellent candidate for properly designed custom portable and battery-powered 12V audio systems.
Its crossover network is especially useful here because many custom boomboxes combine different types of drivers in a single enclosure.
Instead of simply sending every speaker the same signal, builders can use the K1200.4's high-pass and low-pass controls to better define which frequencies each driver is responsible for reproducing.
